DIFFICULTY

EASY

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 frozen yellowfin tuna burgers
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • Burger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato slices, and your favorite burger toppings
  • Burger sauce or mayonnaise

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Take the frozen yellowfin tuna burgers out of the freezer and let them thaw slightly, just enough to make them easier to handle.
In one shallow dish, place the all-purpose flour. In a second shallow dish, beat the eggs with 1 tablespoon of water and in a third shallow dish, mix the panko breadcrumbs with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Dredge each thawed tuna burger in the flour, shaking off any excess and dip the flour-coated burger into the beaten egg, ensuring it is fully coated.
  2. Press the burger into the panko breadcrumb mixture, making sure both sides are evenly coated. Press gently to help the panko adhere well.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat, once the oil is hot, add the panko-coated tuna burgers to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the panko is golden brown and crispy, and the tuna burger is cooked through. Adjust the heat as necessary to prevent burning.
  4. Toast the burger buns lightly if desired, spread a layer of burger sauce or mayonnaise on the bottom bun, place a cooked yellowfin tuna burger on top of the sauce, add lettuce, tomato slices, and any other favorite toppings y cover with the top bun.
